The Winsome Workroom Coming Soon…
According to my mother I could sew before I could walk! The love of sewing and fabrics is in blood - in fact I come from a long lineage of seamstresses dating back four generations. My grandmother Eilee was a brilliant dressmaker starting her career in London and then when she moved to Australia in the 1940’s she opened her own dressmaking studio in Melbourne. I love fabrics - all kinds! Woven, quilted, printed, knitted. You name it, I collect it! Some people travel for food, sport, finding the ultimate beach. Not me - I travel for fabric (and art, antiques and ceramics - all highly impracticle). Sourcing from far away places from era’s long since passed is my idea of heaven.
I’ve only ever sewn for myself, family and now my children but I would like to up the ante and sew for a few more. I have been experimenting with collars and gilets to make good use of my prized collection and soon you will see more. Please find a few pics of what’s to come from the Winsome Workroom.
